Specialty Classes

The best way to challenge and enhance your dogs natural skills.

We hold specialty classes & educational seminars throughout the year, often featuring prominent, specialized instructors. Topics include tracking, herding, adopt a rescue dog, health, nutrition, dog handling for kids & seniors and more!

Do you find that taking your dog out for exercise is stressful because every time another dog appears, your dog goes nuts. Barking like mad. Lunging. Growling. Our class helps you train your reactive dog to regain their focus on you. By the end of the class, you should have a dog that looks to you for guidance rather than taking the situation into his own paws.

This class prepares you for the Canine Good Neighbour test. The purpose of the CGN test is to ensure you dog is accepted as a valued member of society. Canine Good Neighbours can be relied on to present good manners at home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. CGN training is fun, rewarding, and useful. It can help owners to achieve a better relationship with their dogs. The CGN test is not a competition calling for precision performance by the handler and dog, rather  it assesses the handler and dogs relationship together with the handlers ability to control the dog. Dogs are evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.

The CKC ( Canadian Kennel Club) encourages all dog owners to participate in this program, thereby ensuring that our dogs are welcomed and respected members of our communities.
This class is open to all dogs who have completed a basic level of obedience.

Rally is a fun, relaxed form of obedience competition. The dog & handler work as a team, navigating through a course with numbered signs. Each sign indicates a different exercise to perform.

Rally provides a fun, fast paced way to work your dog through stays, heeling, various turns, stands, recalls, finishes & exercises such as jumping, sidesteps & a moving drop. Rally is a fun way to freshen up everyday obedience skills. It is also a great way to work on focus and control around other dogs, while building up your dog to a more advance level of obedience.

Rally obedience competitions are open to both purebred and mixed breed dogs in both CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and CARO (Canadian Association of Rally Obedience) competitions.
This class will teach the different exercises and components that go into a rally course, and prepare you to enter competitions if you choose.

This class is open to all dogs who have completed a basic level of obedience.
